Kamaz suspends production until January 23 over plan fulfillment

NIZHNY NOVGOROD, Dec 25 (PRIME) -- Russia’s largest truck maker Kamaz has suspended production of its major products until January 23 having fulfilled the annual plan, spokesperson Oleg Afanasyev told PRIME late on Monday.

“The company has stopped production of major products because we have fulfilled the plan for this year. Some departments are in downtime starting from today,” he said.

“But maintenance and repairs services continue operations, as well as the departments that make spare parts and production for other plants and industries. Besides, people who work on upgrade of production lines and on construction of new lines are also working.”

Employees of Kamaz will go on a corporate vacation in January as usual. “This time, the corporate vacation will start on January 9 and end on January 23, and Kamaz will completely restore its production after that,” he said.
